Chairman's Report

Mick welcomed everyone to the meeting and asked all to raise a glass in remembrance of members we have sadly lost this year.

Mick thanked all teams for their participation last season and especially to all who came to support the charity night. One of the charities we raised money for actually attended the event and were hugely grateful. Mick thanked Claire Howes for the amazing work she puts in to gain raffle prizes.

Mick thanked Clare Sabourn and Jackie Moran for their work as Secretary and Treasurer and all of the committee members.

Mick wished everyone good luck for the coming season.

Secretary's Report

Clare thanked everyone who attended or contributed to the charity night which has now been running for 3 years. The walk on music was a great addition this year!

Clare thanked Claire Howes again for her hard work in securing raffle prizes. Special thanks as well to Claire and Jennie Duggan who were always selling raffle tickets and to all teams who sold raffle tickets at their venues.

There was a good turnout at finals night which was enjoyed by all who attended. Clare thanked Tracey Jenner, Mick Kirrage and Bernadette Grantham who provided food on the night.

Treasurer's Report

Jackie distributed the end of year accounts and confirmed there was £738.18 remaining in the bank. This included the donation of £300 from UK Power Networks. It was still to be decided how this would be spent.

There should not be a big balance left at the end of the year and unless more was being spent on trophies/medals this year, it should be decided what teams would like to do with the funds remaining.

There were no questions and the accounts were proposed by Kevin Grantham, Seconded by Andy Tester.

Team Registrations

Tom White worked really hard in distributing posters and speaking to various venues in the area. 3 teams requested to join the league this year. These are: The Disappointers, Hoppers and Pelham Buckle. Outthere have unfortunately dropped out this year.

Clare welcomed the new teams which was proposed by Dave Critchley, Seconded by Warren Grantham.

Registration forms were handed out. £35 registration fee could be paid by cash, cheque or bank transfer (preferred).

Rules

  • Rule 12: It was agreed that if a team had a minimum of 3 players in attendance, the match would be played. Less than 3 will be a no show.
  • Nearest the bull to start: This was not agreed. Home team to throw first.
  • Start time: Start time will remain at 8.30pm. Captains may agree to start earlier.
  • Players names to be drawn for singles: This rule remains unchanged.
  • Trebles competition: To be discussed in AOB.
  • Singles draw: Only names of players in attendance at the time of the draw may be in the draw.
  • Bonus points for a win: Not agreed.
  • Return of runners-up trophies: This was changed last year due to medals being left behind after finals night. It was agreed that runners-up will receive medals again.

Topics for Discussion

  • The £300 donation be used to buy dartboards/lights for those who do not have them provided by their venue – to be confirmed.
  • Paul Terry Flying Pairs charity night: 2 charities to be chosen. 1 must be different to the year before. Suggestions for charities this year are Sistershare, Gateway, Veterans Armed Forces or a local mental health charity. Forget me nots will be one charity. Still 1 to choose.
  • Perpetual trophies: engraving is out of date now. It was agreed to purchase 8 new trophies. Dispose of the old trophies but keep the plaques.

League Structure

  • 7 teams in each league.
  • League to start 4th October.
  • 2 catch up weeks.

AOB

  • The Jubilee Club had not been supporting competitions and didn't want to move the pool table. We have been assured that this has now changed after home teams have spoken to the venue.
  • Some teams lacked space for the away teams to sit and actually watch the darts. Teams all agreed to ensure there was suitable space for home teams to sit.
  • Teams not providing food: Ewhurst Arrows, Dingles.
  • Digital scoreboards: Must show the previous score. We are not aware of any teams using these.

The meeting concluded at 9.35pm.
